“I have worn the waist belt system in various configurations for the 2005 Academy Awards and various other assignments that require agile mobility. All I can say is that the system works and it is comfortable. I say radical because it actually works as designed without me adding more to it to make it work right. I have been a Domke pouch and waist belt user for the past 15 years as a staff photographer at the Los Angeles Times. I have also had to fashion my own belt system over the years while using the minimalist system. The Think Tank Photo system doesn’t need any help from me. I photograph many outdoor adventure assignments and look forward to putting this system to the test. It’s the little things that have made the difference. Gear protection from rain and other pesky elements like sand and dust is a gift as well. I have had many photographers ask how and where they can get the system as well as the students (I teach at Brooks Institute of Photography). Thank you for supplying me with your thoughtfully designed system.” May 4th, 2005

“Hey Doug, By all means, you have my permission to use my cowboy likeliness in your product folder. Thank you, and keep producing great products. The photographers love them! Best, Donald Miralle, Senior Staff photographer, gettyimages sport “ May 17, 2005

Notes from designer Doug Murdoch: Note the creative use of the Windex in the Lightning Fast bag and towels in the other! Truly multipurpose.

“I have been using the Pro Modulus waist bag exclusively at the tennis in Indian Wells, CA since 07 March. Two weeks worth of the top men’s and women’s tennis. One thing I would like to be added to the Pro Modulus system is a quick access teleconverter case. I have been using the main bag (without the padded divider)for 1D batteries, memory cards, HP iPaq 4705, keys, cough drops, lip balm, sharpie, eye drops. The padding stuck out too much, but it’s a great to have the option to remove the padding. I have also been using the quick access 70-200 case. This case alone as drawn interest by other photographers. Also, I use one of the larger lens case for my wide-angle zoom. The main bag and the wide-angle zoom are locked down, but the 70-200 case I have loose so I can sit down on a bench or be more mobile in tight shooting spots. I have two more days left of the tennis, and I will give you more of an update. Thanks again for designing great products.” March 18th, 2005

“I am in Los Angeles at the moment shooting the X Games. The Modulus System is awesome; it has worked very well in this type of environment. Lots of sitting and running around a large area to get shots. I used it over the last weekend to shoot NHRA and it was invaluable there. I will be home tonight. I will give you a call tomorrow. I still have the airport addicted case and I love it.” August 7th, 200

“Got to put the belt pack system through its paces for the first time yesterday. I love it. Well-designed, resilient, ergonomic, and it looks good, too. The waist belt is the first one I’ve ever used that doesn’t twist all over the place and it truly feels comfortable even with the weight of all of the gear. Jan. 28th, 2005 “Just wanted to drop you a line again. I got to test the integrated rain covers on the waist belt system at Pebble Beach last weekend (It poured miserably for the front nine on Sunday). They passed with flying colors and made more than a few people jealous. You have no idea (okay, maybe you do) what a difference this feature makes--both in terms of what I can carry with me and the confidence I have that, regardless of the weather, I know I’m covered, so to speak.” Feb 19th, 2005

“I just wanted to let you all know that your ‘box of goodies’ arrived just in time for me to make use of the bags. It was a pretty unique assignment where I would only carry the gear I needed for the day on my back during the 110km cross-country-skiing over 5 days in negative 30 degree weather. All of my other gear - including a backup film camera, sat phone, hard drive to copy disks directly, and 30 batteries on the trip with zero access to power for the duration - had to be properly packed in a bag that would be strapped onto a dog sledge on a very bumpy ride. If you’d like to see some of the photos - check out http://www.vincentlaforet.com/Sweden/and you’ll see some pix of the most amazing thing I’ve seen in nature - the northern lights. The travel assignment was along King’s trail, 300 km into the Arctic Circle north of Kiruna, Sweden. Thanks again.” April 3rd, 2005

“I have three Mountainsmith packs that have worked well, but they have their limitations. I had never been able to find a way to carry all my gear where it was as easy to run with as it was to access. This was especially true for my 70-200mm 2.8. The spacers are awesome, and as you can see in the photo, I have a little space on my hip where my camera and lens tucks nicely between two pouches. Hope this helps. If you need anything else, let me know. I must add that the pack feels secure enough that I’ve even worked it while on my motorcycle a couple of times. Sometimes parking downtown can be a pain, and for quick assignments, it can’t be beat. Sure is nicer than wearing a backpack.” August 7th, 2005
