Great travel backpack
I like the ruggedly classy look of this backpack. Used this as my carry-on during travels. Perfect for my camera gear, laptop, accessories, snacks & any other travel essentials. Great quality & durable. I’m petite & this was comfortable for me, especially with the walking I have to do while lugging my gear. I especially like the security features of this bag with the inner zip to secure my camera gear. Highly recommend this backpack.
Back pack
I will be using it in Iceland and Norway fjords. Beautiful pack. Well constructed and inconspicuous. It has plenty of room for 3 lenses and very well designed. Very comfortable on my back. I am very excited to use it.
Great Backpack for traveling light
What I like about the Retrospective Backpack 15 is that it isn’t too big to use all day when I want to keep my kit to a minimum. I was surprised that I could fit my Nikon Zf with a Nikon 100-400mm lens attached and have a Nikon Z7 with a 24-120mm lens attached. I could also open the top flap and take out the camera with the 100-400mm. The backpack is comfortable and made well.
Looks amazing
Just received in the mail. Have only taken on one trip. Impressions so far; Easy to carry, weight distribution is good. The top load for a pro body with 70-200 works but is snug. Using the front pouch is tight when main compartment is loaded. Main compartment needs to be 1 inch wider and left to right and front to back. Depth is good. This pack will carry your pro setup but seems better at an enthusiast kit. Time will tell how well it wears.
Not good for laptops.
The laptop compartment is very flimsy and not sufficiently protected. There is little to no padding between the front of the laptop compartment and the front pocket of the bag. The separator between the laptop compartment and the main gear compartment is thicker, but still relatively thin. The location of the laptop compartment means that when you set the bag down to use the rear access to the main gear compartment you are putting all of the weight of your gear onto your laptop. The laptop compartment is not sufficiently thick to use a sleeve or additional padding to alleviate this issue. Finally, I was not able to pack any gear in the main compartment without significantly deforming the laptop compartment -- which makes it either unusable or, if you put the laptop in first, means the bag itself is putting pressure on the laptop. The bag seems like it would function to carry a small amount of camera gear, but I would not trust it to hold or protect a laptop.
